Google has sent out invitations for the event they are going to hold on October 24th, and the first thing that would currently come into anyone’s mind, is the Nexus 5 device announcement, but that is far from happening on that day. Well, at least that is what the text in the invitation points to – “Join us for a night out with Google Play. Music, movies games and a special performance by Capital Cities.”
As it says, it is something to do with the Google Play, and which could relate to the Movies and music subscriptions but we just assuming, it’s Google who is doing it so things could change till the end.
A report that was published yesterday, said that Google is not going to make any hardware announcements in the event, and thus one should stop expecting the Nexus 5 coming on that day, and thus, the KitKat launch too might have to wait, as Google follows a trend of launching the new Android OS version along with a new nexus device every year.
Whatever that is, when it is an event from Google, one would have high expectations, especially when there is an invite that actually confuses and doesn’t say a lot. Let’s see what they are coming up with. But for now, if at all the Nexus 5 makes a surprising debut, here is a list of the leaked specs that we had found through the various sources:
- 4.95-inch Full HD display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Processor
- 2GB RAM
- 13-megapixel Rear camera
- Android 4.4 KitKat OS
- Fixed Internal Storage with 16GB, 32GB options
- No Storage expansion
Recently, there was a sudden appearance of a listing of the Nexus 5 on the Play Store, which showed the Nexus 5 with the same pricing for which the Nexus 4 was being sold, i.e. $349.99 and for that pricing, the Nexus 5 would be an excellent smartphone with the given specs, and mainly because it is from Google and thus would be getting some regular OS Updates, unlike the devices from the various other manufacturers.
